Recycled toners image from TonerGreen Blog
Eco-friendly toner or toner cartridges are becoming increasingly popular over the past years, providing users with another alternative cartridge aside from the OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). So how did they got the term "eco-friendly cartridges", well, these cartridges to start first are recycled. Unlike compatible toner cartridges or OEM cartridges, these printer consumables aren't entirely built from scratch, they are used OEM parts that are refurbished and tested several times to make sure they perform at their best and deliver the same output and page yield as new toner cartridges do.

And so what's the real deal about them?

Though eco-friendly toner cartridges may cause some printer user's eyebrows to raise and question their quality, these toner cartridges are expertly built by professional technicians to ensure that they meet the highest standards in the printing industry set by OEM toner cartridges. They are first sorted empty toner cartridges, checked and inspected them for dents and problems then choose the best to be recycled and used again. Other components that are damaged are then replaced with  recycled parts from OEM toner cartridges then are cleaned and assembled, refurbished and be filled with new toner powder. After that they undergo to several quality tests to guarantee their quality.

Aside from that, eco-friendly toner cartridges contribute to our environment's conservation and sustainability. Since it uses old parts, these cartridges conserve the use of about 5 to 9 pounds of raw materials got from our natural resources such as rubber, metal, and most especially oil. About 3 quartz of oil are used in the production of new cartridges, and third-party manufacturers saves this amount of oil in ever toner cartridges they recycle.

Eco-friendly toner cartridges also decreases the number of used toner cartridges ending up in our landfills. And since these cartridges are composed of 40% plastic and 40% metal, a single toner cartridge will take 1,000 years to decompose. Through remanufacturing empty or used toner cartridges, it will help lessen the pollution and waste in our planet.
